Harry and Meghan pulled from royal family display at London wax museum Madame Tussauds

Following the unexpected announcement that Harry and Meghan will step away from their senior royal duties, wax museum Madame Tussauds has removed the couple from their royal family display.

Replicas of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously stood next to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

But photos of the display now appear to show the rest of the royal family standing elegantly alongside their partners, with a glaring hole where Meghan and Harry were once positioned.

Steve Davies, general manager at the attraction, said: "Alongside the rest of the world we are reacting to the surprising news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be stepping back as senior royals.

"From today Meghan and Harry's figures will no longer appear in our Royal Family set."

The museum says the couple will remain intact - albeit away from the rest of their family and in-laws.

Mr Davies added: "As two of our most popular and well-loved figures they will of course remain an important feature at Madame Tussauds London as we watch to see what the next chapter holds for them."

It's not yet confirmed where they'll be featured at the attraction moving forward, as the real-life pair firms up plans to split their time between the UK and North America and focus on becoming "financially independent".
