Harry and Meghan plan summer holiday in Scotland with baby Archie and the Queen

Prince Harry and wife Meghan are reportedly planning to take Archie on holiday with the Queen to Scotland this summer.

The Queen is said to be saddened by her great-grandson’s move away from Britain. Archie, 10 months, has not yet been in the UK this year.

But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have accepted an invitation to visit the Queen at Balmoral, reports suggest.

Archie will also spend time with his grandfather, Charles, while he is in Aberdeenshire.

The Prince of Wales, 71, and Camilla, 72, have their own retreat on the estate.

Harry and Meghan left Archie in Canada earlier this month when they returned to the UK to carry out their final royal duties.

Their son is said to have been looked after by the couple’s nanny and Meghan’s friend, fashion stylist Jessica Mulroney.

Archie has spent the last four months mainly on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. His trip to Balmoral is likely to be his first to Britain this year, although he may join Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, at the Trooping the Colour ceremony in London in June.

Last year, the Queen was said to have been “disappointed” when the Sussexes declined her invitation for them to visit in Scotland.

Royal sources claimed the couple felt that Archie was too young for the trip.

But they took him on holiday to Sir Elton John’s villa in France, and to Ibiza, last summer.

The Queen spends more than two months of the year at Balmoral.

It is not yet known whether Harry and Meghan will visit at the same time as William, 37, and Kate, 38, and children – George, six, Charlotte, four, and Louis 20 months.

A spokeswoman for the Palace refused to comment on the Balmoral trip.
