Harry and Meghan must decide if they want 'all or nothing' with royals, says expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle need to decide if they want "all or nothing" when it comes to their place in the Royal Family, an expert has said.

The pair, who quit as working royals in 2020 and moved to California, were reunited with their royal relatives recently following the sad death of the Queen. They even joined Prince William and wife Kate for a walkabout in Windsor in the days after the Queen's death to view floral tributes and meet wellwishers. However, now they've returned to California, attentions have turned to what might be included in Harry's upcoming memoir and his and Meghan's reported new Netflix documentary show.

And now royal expert Duncan Larcombe has said it's now the time for Harry and Meghan to decide whether they want to be in or out.

He told OK! magazine: "Charles, Camilla, William and Kate are entering a new era of the institution. It's up to Harry and Meghan whether they want all or nothing.

"When William and Kate became the Prince and Princess of Wales, one of their first jobs was to reach out to Meghan and Harry, and Charles explicitly affirmed their relationship in his speech, no matter what has been said and done.

"In my opinion, it's only Meghan and Harry who can decide what they want. Do they want to forgive and forget, creating unity with the royal family? Or do they want a wholly separated life in California? They cannot have both."

Duncan's comments come as Harry and Meghan released two brand new portraits of themselves taken last month.

They were snapped by Misan Harriman before their appearance at the Young One World Summit in Manchester.

One of the photos shows Harry and Meghan looking directly at the camera as they interlock fingers with each other.

Another black and white image, taken from a side angle, shows the Sussexes looking straight ahead as they hold hands.

The pictures came just days after an official portrait featuring King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla and the new Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, was released.

And according to body language expert Judi James, Harry and Meghan appear closely bonded and intimate.

She told the Mirror: "No more lying on the ground under tall trees in flowing dresses and bare feet, gazing up at the clouds for this couple, these new official portraits are pure power and status, with a very upright Meghan closest to the camera and Harry clinging to her index finger and grinning like a proud and supportive fan.

"These look like poses for a business magazine and they seem set to approach their global future together, hence the handclasp that involves entwined fingers to register intimacy and close bonding."
