'Harrowing' scenes as woman is punched and kicked on the ground in front of people

Police are concerned about the safety of a woman who was allegedly punched and repeatedly kicked on the ground in Radford.

Officers are appealing for a victim of an assault to come forward and help them with enquiries following the report of an attack on Southey Street.

A member of the public reported that a woman was attacked by a man. According to police, she was allegedly punched and repeatedly kicked when on the floor, before both parties walked off in separate directions.

All efforts have been made to locate anyone connected with the incident, but following extensive enquiries, no one has come forward.

Police Constable Stephen Stones from Nottinghamshire Police is leading the investigation.

He said: "At this stage, it isn't clear how serious the injuries were for the woman.

"The initial report of a woman screaming for help was quite harrowing, so we are keen to establish what exactly happened that night. Someone must have heard or seen something suspicious.

"We are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

"We are keen to speak to the victim herself to ensure her welfare is being supported.

"If anyone saw the incident on Southey Street in Radford, at the junction with Waterloo Promenade at around 10.40pm on 2 April 2021.

"If you can help with our investigation please call 101, quoting incident number 902 of 2 April 2021."
