Harrowing moment teenager found 'pouring with blood' after being stabbed in Liverpool park

Ambulance crews were forced to stand by at the scene of a stabbing after it was unknown if the attacker remained close by.

In scenes shown on BBC Ambulance, a 19-year-old was reported to have been stabbed in the leg at Springfield Park in West Derby.

Advanced Paramedic Rob was immediately dispatched, as well as a doctor and paramedic.

But North West Ambulance Service were informed by a distressed caller that the attacker could still be nearby.

Due to safety concerns, crews had to wait at a standby point for confirmation that the scene was safe before heading to treat the teenage victim.

Meanwhile, the caller became more distressed saying the young man was "pouring with blood".

After a tense wait the crews were finally given the go-ahead to approach the scene, where a gruesome trail of blood lay.

The 19-year-old was conscious but had suffered serious bleeding and needed to be taken to Aintree Hospital for treatment.

Paramedic Rob commented: "We see the worst of everything, you know, we see things that normal people never see.

"I remember going to see someone who had been stabbed twice in the chest, it was over a debt of £30.

"It's just crazy, I don't know what the answer is, I wish I did."
