This is the harrowing moment an elderly lady was knocked to the ground as a man stole her handbag in broad daylight.
In the footage - which you can watch above - the pensioner in her 80s can be seen making her way towards a shop front with a walking stick, when a car pulls up near her.
As a man exits the vehicle he goes up to the shop door briefly before quickly turning back around to seemingly say something to the woman.
Sensing an opportunity, he very quickly snatches her hangbag off her shoulder, causing her to fall onto the pavement, reports Kent Live.
Without any hesitation or looking back, the thug rushes back into his car and flees from the scene while his victim lays on the ground.
The brazen act took place on St John's Avenue in Sittingbourne, Kent, Tuesday morning (April 14).
The recording of the shameless act has now been shared more than 49,000 times on Facebook.
Kent Police have since confirmed that they have arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the incident. He remains in custody.
Since the video was posted a fundraiser has been set up to help the woman, who has been identified as Maureen Pledger.
Speaking in a Facebook post, her grandaughter Lucy Foster said their her grandmother wished all donations would go towards the NHS.
