Harrowing images as firefighters rescue one person from a burning home in Darndale

Brave firefighters rescued a person from a burning house in north Dublin.

The incident happened today in the Darndale area.

The person was treated for smoke inhalation and is expected to make a full recovery.

Crew from Kilbarrack, North Strand, and Phibsborough attended the scene of the blaze which is believed to have started in the bedroom.

The Dublin Fire Brigade has shared harrowing images of the inside of the home being completely destroyed by the flames.

They said in the caption: "Firefighters from Kilbarrack, North Strand and Phibsborough have rescued a person from a house fire in the Darndale area.

"The patient was treated for smoke inhalation and is expected to make a full recovery. The fire is believed to have started in the bedroom."
