Harrison Ford scolded for crossing runway after being told to wait

Harrison Ford has landed himself in trouble again after an apparent miscommunication at an airport in southern California.

According to TMZ, the Indiana Jones star had been told to wait before crossing the runway in his single-engine plane because another plane was there practising touch-and-go landings.

Audio posted on the website shows the tower operator telling Ford: “Can you hold short on runway. Traffic on the runway.”

Ford appears to mishear this and instead accelerates onto the runway and begins crossing.

The operator angrily tells Ford that he ignored his instructions, and Ford making an apology, explaining he heard the opposite.

An FAA official has said the incident is under investigation.

Ford’s representative said: “Mr Ford crossed the airport's only runway in his aircraft after he misheard a radio instruction from ATC. He immediately acknowledged the mistake and apologised to ATC for the error.

“The purpose of the flight was to maintain currency and proficiency of the aircraft.”

Ford was previously involved in an incident at John Wayne Airport where he accidentally passed his single-engine plane over an American Airlines jet after landing on a taxiway parallel to the one he had been told to go for.

“Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?” Ford was heard asking air traffic controllers in a recording.

Harrison is reportedly in the process of getting his license updated in order to help with relief efforts.
