Harrisburg paper breaks story of US atrocity in Iraq

A story broken by a newspaper in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the Patriot-News, has become the latest dark episode to emerge for the US in Iraq. In its original report on Friday, the Patriot-News revealed that one National Guardsman was under investigation for killing an unarmed Iraqi man while another faced a possible conspiracy charge. Early today the Washington Post carried an Associated Press report confirming that the two men had been formally charged, one with voluntary manslaughter and both with obstructing justice.
