Aussie actress Harriet Dyer has hit back at “mean” critics who roasted her husband Patrick Brammall’s “pointless” character in The Devil Wears Prada 2

ICYMI, Brammell appears in the recently released sequel as Peter, the love interest of Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs.

The necessity of Brammall’s role in the movie was hotly debated among diehard fans of the original, with critics like Cosmopolitan’s Megan Wallace describing his character in a recent essay as “pointless” and “one-dimensional”.

One person not taking too kindly to the criticism was Dyer, who has been married to her Colin From Accounts co-star since 2021. “Mean post,” Dyer wrote in the comments section of Cosmopolitan’s Instagram Post

Dyer went on to explain that most of the scenes with Brammall — including the one captured by paparazzi during filming last year — were cut from the sequel, saying the “brutal edit” might be why fans failed to connect with his character.

“They cut scenes out. The edit is brutal. The scene all these pictures are from was cut,” Dyer wrote under the post.

We do know the filmmakers weren’t shy about removing elements of The Devil Wears Prada 2, with everyone from Sydney Sweeney to Anna Wintour having their scenes and roles nixed entirely from the final version of the film.

Dyer finished her message by hitting back at the haters, saying she liked Brammall’s character even with what little we saw of him. “I liked him. And I married him,” she wrote.

It’s not the first time Dyer has weighed in on The Devil Wears Prada 2 since its premiere last month, with the actress jokingly scolding her husband on social media after he showered praise on Hathaway during the press tour.

“Trust no one,” Dyer wrote in response to a clip of Brammall saying working with Hathaway is hardly a “tough gig”.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 received mixed reviews from critics, but now we at least know where Dyer stands on all the chatter.
