Harlan Coben's New Show 'Lazarus' Set Photos Revealed In Manchester

Netflix

The set photos for Prime Video's new show by Fool Me Once author Harlan Coben, which has the working title Lazarus, have been unveiled. After debuting on Netflix on January 1, Fool Me Once has quickly become a streaming success for Netflix. The limited series about a woman who discovers that her deceased husband is very much alive has been breaking records and bringing a spotlight to Coben's show adaptations of his books. On the heels of that success, Lazarus was announced for Prime Video.

Digital Spy has now unveiled set photos for Lazarus from Manchester. The photos highlight cast member Sam Claflin, who recently starred in Daisy Jones & The Six. In one photo, Claflin's character appears to be in a tense confrontation. In another, he looks to be deep in thought.

Lazarus, unlike Fool Me Once, is based on an original idea rather than a novel. Coben and Fool Me Once show writer Danny Brocklehurst will pen the script. The story centers on a man who returns home after his father’s suicide. He begins to have disturbing experiences that can’t be explained, quickly becoming entangled in a string of cold-case murders. He grapples with the mystery of his father's death and his sister's murder 25 years ago.

Claflin, also an executive producer on the project, plays the lead character of Laz. The well-respected forensic psychologist has spent his whole life running from the pain of his past, but he has to face what he's been running from now that he's returned home. Claflin is joined in the cast by Bill Nighy (Love Actually) and Alexandra Roach (Utopia). They'll play Laz's father and sister, respectively.

Lazarus not only has the same writers as Fool Me Once. It also hails from much of the same team behind the scenes and the Quay Street production company. It will be interesting to see if Prime Video finds a similar success to the same success as Fool Me Once 's talked about ending or if streaming phenomenons prove difficult to replicate.
