Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri deemed on Sunday his recent visit to Saudi Arabia a success, saying that the Kingdom will take part in upcoming conferences aimed at backing his country.

The premier made his remarks after holding talks with head of the Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc MP Fouad Saniora.

“We discussed the latest developments that took place while I was in Saudi Arabia,” said Hariri.

“The doubts over my relationship with the Kingdom are unfounded. We will witness Saudi Arabia’s support for Lebanon and Saad Hariri,” he added.

The PM confirmed that Riyadh will take part in the Rome and Paris conferences that are aimed at supporting Lebanon on the economic and military levels.

Hariri and Saniora also tackled the May 6 parliamentary elections in Lebanon.

The prime minister hoped that the MP would run in the polls, saying that they should continue the legacy of his father, late PM Rafik Hariri.

Hariri traveled to Saudi Arabia last week.

He held talks with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Wednesday and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, on Friday.
