Haringey stabbing: First picture of man, 48, killed in north London home

This is the first picture of a 48-year-old man who was stabbed to death in a home in north London.

Police were called just before midnight on Saturday to reports of a man with stab injuries at an address in Waldegrave Road, Haringey.

Officers and paramedics scrambled to the scene and found a man suffering from stab wounds.

Police have now named the victim as Mihai Gae. He was rushed to hospital but died at around 1am on Sunday.

His next of kin were informed and continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

A special post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound to the neck.

A 42-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder is believed to be known to the victim.

He was later charged with murder on Monday and remains in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on September 2.
