Hardgate Primary pupils thrilled with new playground addition after summer holidays

Pupils at Hardgate Primary went back to school and were thrilled to fine a new addition to their playground – a pipe slide.

Some time ago the parent council had a length of pipe donated from the pipeline project as the works passed close by.

The giant tubing was originally intended for use during the nursery construction as a play tunnel.

But the scheme never came to fruition and the parent council decided to make it into a slide instead.

The group appealed for help via its Facebook page and a generous offer came through from Mark Harris at Grierson and Graham, Honda, to pay for the installation.

Handyman Craig Williamson carried out the work with his helpers just in time for the new session.

Parent council chairperson Lucie Stewart said: “The parent council are delighted with the pipe slide. Some children have already given their seal of approval.

“It’s great that the pupils have something new to play on following their return to school last week. We wish to thank all for their work and support.”
