Legends of Aria is one of those MMOs that I really enjoyed when I took the time to play it, but just haven’t been able to fit it into my life again for almost a year. Now that it’s out of Early Access though as of earlier this month, I really want to go back.
Last year I wrote about how heavily influenced it was by Ultima Online and judging by the various updates and improvements the team at Citadel Studios have made since then, it looks better then ever.
Season 4: The Shifting Sands is the latest batch of content for Legends of Aria and is slated to release on August 10th. It will take place in the Barren Lands and includes new dynamic encounters and other content in areas that were previously more barren. Legends of Aria will get a new season every month to keep content fresh.
According to the official website, the new update includes:
“Journey throughout the Withering Sands and Flat Wilds to discover new dynamic monster spawns. Mysterious portals will guide your way to encounters against desert-bound creatures including Lizardmen, Beetles, Gorgons, and more. Each spawn features a new mechanic that allows the final boss to scale both in difficulty and and reward based on the number of players completing the spawn. We are excited to pilot this feature during the seasonal content and plan on incorporating it into all dynamic spawn locations in the future.”
Completing PvE challenges will help players earn an exclusive Gilded Beetle mount and completing PvP challenges can let you earn a Bloodstone Beetle mount.
