Hard Rock Stadium remembers Miami Miracle to mark ESPY nomination

Do you remember where you were at when the Dolphins pulled off the play of the century? The Dolphins achieved the impossible that day — how many times have you seen a team line up with one play remaining and haplessly try to lateral their way down the field? How many of those plays even get past the first pitch?

The Dolphins concocted the perfect play. The perfect conditions — if Ted Larsen doesn’t haul tail 40 yards down the field, the play doesn’t work. If the Patriots left Rob Gronkowski on the sideline, the play doesn’t work. If Kenyan Drake cuts the wrong way, the play doesn’t work.

But it did. And the play now known as the “Miami Miracle” is looking to collect some accolades this offseason, most notably the ESPY for “Play of the Year”. Hard Rock Stadium’s social account asked fans to relive the moment yesterday — posting an excellent montage of fan reactions to the play from December.

The play itself will go down in franchise history as an all-time moment. But the cherry on top is undoubtedly the slew of stunned Patriots fans littered throughout the stands at Hard Rock from that afternoon. Thankfully, Dolphins fans aren’t the only fans who will forever remember where they were when the Dolphins landed in the end zone.
