Hard Megxit: Meghan Markle and Harry quit UK under new deal to leave royal family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will spend the majority of their time in North America once they step back from the royal family in the Spring.

Under a new deal struck with the royal family the couple will spend a majority of their time across the Atlantic.

While it has not been announced where, it is presumed Canada and specifically Vancouver - where they spent time this Christmas - is the planned destination.

It is unknown how much of their time will be spent in the Commonwealth country.

Frogmore Cottage in Windsor will still be their official UK residence.

Not only will the couple pay commercial rent on the property, they will pay back the £2.4 million from the Sovereign Grant that was spent to refurbish it.

Others things to change once the couple step back from the Firm in the Spring will be their titles.

Harry and Meghan will keep their HRH titles, but will not use them.

Questions about their future finances have also become a little clearer since it was revealed that Prince Charles would still fund them his from Duchy of Cornwall.

They are yet to strike any commercial deals however, despite having now been given the green light to seek them.

A statement from Buckingham Palace released this evening said: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are grateful to Her Majesty and the Royal Family for their ongoing support as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

"As agreed in this new arrangement, they understand that they are required to step back from their Royal duties, including official military appointments.

"They will no longer receive funding for Royal duties.

"With the Queen's blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations.

"While they can no longer formally represent The Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty."
