Former Nottingham Forest Academy star Arvin Appiah made his first appearance for Almeria since an £8m summer move.
The 18-year-old, who came up through the ranks at the Nigel Doughty Academy, left the club to join the La Liga 2 side on a five-year deal.
Appiah was highly regarded at the City Ground, making his Reds breakthrough last season by scoring on his debut in the 3-2 League Cup defeat against Burton Albion.
He made eight first-team appearances in total, but featured just once under Sabri Lamouchi this season – in the 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Fleetwood Town.
That lack of opportunity saw him move to pastures new, signing for Almeria and making his debut on Sunday.
Appiah played the full 90 minutes as Almeria held Deportivo to a goalless draw and means they are second in the division.
“Hard earned point last night against a tough side, but happy to make my debut for @UDAlmeria_Eng,” Appiah tweeted after the game.
