A note reminding people that their "mummy" is not around to clear up their mess has been plastered to a post at Bristol harbourside.
The piece of paper was scrawled with a passive-aggressive message in response to persistent problems with littering and abandoned bottles left by the water's edge.
It was stuck to a lifebuoy post at the corner of Merchant's Quay, opposite Thekla, but has since been removed.
The note, written in capital letters, said: "If you're going to sit and enjoy the scenery, please! take your sh** with you"
"Mummy isn't here to clean up after you!!!"
It was signed off with a polite: "Thanks!"

Bristol entrepreneur Stephen Fear saw the note yesterday morning [Wednesday, August 5], tweeting : "This resident on Bristol harbourside has clearly had enough!
"Walking along the river this morning there was broken glass everywhere. In fairness to Bristol Council they do try to clear it up.
"Why people can’t take litter home with them, or use the bins, is beyond me."
The note had already been removed by this morning [Thursday], with just a clump of double-sided tape left in place.
Bristol Live is currently running a campaign called Don't Trash Our Future, in response to shocking piles of litter left in public spaces in recent weeks.
In June, Bristol City Council had to fence off parts of the harbourside to tackle antisocial behaviour following complaints from residents.
Images showing the area strewn with rubbish and bottles were reported by Bristol Live in May, and residents even complained of people defecating outside their doorsteps while public toilets were closed.
Just last week the RSPCA urged people to dispose of their litter properly, after a baby bird was impaled on a kebab stick in Clifton.
