The Irish Coast Guard is urging people to stay away from piers on the East Coast as a Yellow Weather Warning is in place.
Footage taken by the Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard shows violent waves thrashing around the southside pier as heavy rain batters the capital.
The hero workers say it's not safe to be near the water today.
They wrote: "STAY AWAY.
"The east coast and harbours are currently under YELLOW alert weather warnings.
"Harbour piers are being closed. The coastline is not safe."
The closures come as ex hurricane Lorenzo moves in on Ireland while photos taken in Howth on Sunday showed people being knocked to the ground by waves crashing over the walls.
Numerous families, couples, and tourists were seen walking along as the water toppled over them with one woman being saved by the railings.

A man and woman were also seen falling as they walked along the top part while a young couple held onto eachother as the waves hit them at waist level.
The Coast Guard is keen to avoid similar scenes as Met Eireann say they're concerned about ex hurricane Lorenzo which looks like it will hit the country on Thursday.
They said: "On its current forecast track, it will pass close to the western Azores early on Wednesday, weakening after that to an extra tropical low, with an increasing probability that it will pass close to or over Ireland during Thursday and Thursday night."
There will be spells of torrential rain, high seas and swells with the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts predicting winds of over 154km/h for Ireland.
In the UK, the Environment Agency has issued 80 flood alerts ahead of today's torrential downpours, which have forced hundreds of people to evacuate.
Flooding is expected in every part of England today, prompting the Met Office to release two yellow weather warnings also.
