PYEONGCHANG -- Moguls skier Daichi Hara, who brought Japan its first medal of the Pyeongchang Games by finishing third in the men's moguls, said Tuesday his third-place performance has yet to sink in.
"I don't feel at all like I won the bronze medal," the 20-year-old said.
Hara said fatigue and excitement have kept him from getting any sleep, adding, "I've been receiving messages through social media from people I've never spoken with."
The up-and-comer also expressed his determination to succeed at the Beijing Olympics in 2022.
"I felt strongly that I had a chance to win," Hara said. "Winning gold has been my dream since my childhood. I'm absolutely determined to make it happen."
