Happy Valley star Siobhan Finneran's Coronation Street role and famous ex

Happy Valley actress Siobhan Finneran has reprised her role as Clare for the hotly-anticipated third series.

The Bafta-winning programme stars Sarah Lancashire as Sergeant Catherine Cawood. When Catherine discovers the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir, it sparks a chain of events that leads her straight back to Tommy Lee Royce, the rapist of her late daughter, and father of her grandson, Ryan.

The latest season has not disappointed fans, with many left gripped and eager to view the next episode.

Clare has been caught in a web of lies, after secretly taking her great-nephew Ryan to see his rapist father in prison. Tense scenes that aired in episode three saw her caught out by Catherine in a café.

Actress Siobhan, 56, who plays Clare, has had a TV career spanning more than three decades.

She first rose to fame starring in Rita, Sue and Bob Too, back in 1987 and has since gone on to star in many major programmes. In 1989 and 1990, she played Josie Phillips in Coronation Street.

Over a 23-episode stint, her character was a packer at Baldwin's Casuals. Josie became concerned over rumours the factory was due to close. She confronted her boss Mike Baldwin who told her all was well, but she was later proven right when the factory was indeed sold, and Josie was humiliated after being locked out of the premises.

Since then, Siobhan has starred in shows such as Where the Heart Is, Emmerdale, and Downton Abbey. More recently she played DS Johanna Griffin in The Stranger on Netflix.

In 1997, Siobhan married Emmerdale actor Mark Jordon, who played Daz Spencer between 2019 and 2019. They went on to welcome two children, but split in 2017.

Mark went on to get engaged to fellow Emmerdale star Laura Norton, who plays Kerry Wyatt, in 2019. They have since had a son, Jesse, and a baby girl, Ronnie, together.
