Happy Valley's James Norton pays tribute to stunt double as he shares behind the scenes moment of final scene

Happy Valley star James Norton waved goodbye to evil Tommy Lee Royce in February as the Sally Wainwright drama came to a fiery conclusion. Now the actor has paid tribute to the brave stuntman who was actually set alight during the concluding scenes of the BBC One smash hit drama.

Sharing the eye-opening video on his Instagram, James said he was sharing the video now to make sure there was enough time for everyone to catch up on the series, which aired its final scenes on February 5.

Alongside the video of his stunt double, Leo Woodruff, being prepped and then set alight, James wrote: "Huge respect to @leonardstunts, my stunt double. The man literally goes up in flames." Over the video he added the caption: "Waited a beat before posting, in case people hadn't caught up."

Fans will very much remember how the actor's much-maligned - and loved by some - character set himself on fire after an epic showdown with Sarah Lancashire's Catherine Cawood in the copper's kitchen.

James has treated fans of the show to a few behind-the-scenes clips and photos, including the mocked-up car crash, also from the finale and after the credits rolled he shared a picture of him and co-star Sarah Lancashire side-by-side proving the actors are on good terms in real life.
