A Georgian cottage in Richmond once owned by presenter Fearne Cotton is on the market for £1 million.
The four-storey property was bought by the founder of the Happy Place podcast at the peak of her television and radio fame in 2004.
Cotton is understood to have lived in the three-bedroom house while presenting Top of the Pops and the Radio 1 Chart Show.
While she is thought to have placed the Petersham property up for sale in 2008, it wasn’t registered as sold until 2017, when the current owners moved in.
When Cotton lived there she reportedly decorated the walls with her own paintings of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley.
The decor has changed and now boasts an Aga range cooker, alongside exposed brickwork, timber beams and a traditional fireplace.
The Grade II-listed mid-terrace home has a lower-ground floor kitchen with low ceilings and windows at street level, as well as a bathroom built into the sloping roof.
Its wisteria-covered façade is matched by a walled and planted courtyard garden at the rear of the property.
Dominic Murray, sales manager at estate agent John D Wood & Co, said the property had “lots of charm and character” — but would perhaps suit a more petite buyer (Cotton is an average 5'6").
“If you are taller than six foot two then you will struggle in the kitchen, and you have to duck and dive to get in the bath,” he said. “There are lots of stairs.”
However the layout and history of the property are “unique”, he added, and the area is close to Richmond Park and highly rated schools, making it ideal for young families.
“We have had a number of viewings and everyone who sees it falls in love with it,” Murray added.
Having landed her first presenting gig at 15, Cotton quickly progressed to fronting major BBC music and entertainment shows in her twenties.
She has since talked about the struggles she had with her mental health in this period, and released her bestselling book, Happy, in 2017.
Since then she has launched the Happy Place website, app, podcast and festival, as well as writing several more books.
Cotton is still said to live in Richmond, with her husband Jesse – son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood – and their children Rex and Honey.
Other notable residents of the celebrity-studded borough have included David Attenborough, Tom Hardy and Brad Pitt.
Properties in Richmond had an overall average price of £1.05 million over the last year, according to Rightmove.
