
Ten years ago, Uniqlo chose an auspicious date, Sept 9, for its launch in Thailand.
From the flagship store at CentralWorld, Uniqlo Thailand now operates 54 branches nationwide including the latest opening at CentralPlaza Nakhon Si Thammarat. The expansion plan includes two more stores at CentralPlaza Sriracha and Central Ayutthaya to round off the first decade in Thailand.
The 10th anniversary is marked by a collaboration with Disney for the "Mickey Mouse In Thailand" UT collection of cotton graphic T-shirts and eco bags.
The partnership with Disney began in 2009, with a UT collection featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
Donald Duck and Daisy Duck join them in donning a Thai traditional costume and greeting with the customary wai in the design of the commemorative collection.

Another design also pays tribute to Thailand, by featuring the cartoon characters in muay Thai gear and posing in fun stances.
A Thank You Card features illustrations that represent collaborations with sustainability partners, UNHCR, Ban Rom Sai, Rajanukul Institute and WARF. It will be offered to online shoppers as well customers at physical stores until the end of the 10th anniversary campaign.
The online store was launched in 2016, and the first roadside store in Thailand, Uniqlo Phattanakarn, opened its doors two years later.
Back in 1984, the very first store was located in Hiroshima, Japan. The original name, Unique Clothing Warehouse, was shortened to Uniclo. When it was registered in Hong Kong, the misspelling as Uniqlo looked better and became the official trademark.
