Hapless cyclist flips over wall and lands next to dozing dog - who doesn't move a muscle

Hilarious CCTV footage shows a speeding cyclist come a cropper - failing to hit his brakes and doing a near 360 degree flip over a garden wall.

While the bizarre drama unfolds outside a home in Yorkshire, a border collie sits unfazed.

Baker John Heavey, 50, received a panicked phone call from his 10-year-old son, Bradley, last Tuesday, saying something had happened.

John rushed home to find his front garden empty, but with smears of blood all over the paving.

It wasn't until he checked over his CCTV that he discovered the blood was from his friend Ricky Murphy ploughing a bicycle into his wall at high speed.

Much-loved homeless man reunited with stolen pet rat in heartwarming video

Hilarious footage shows Ricky flying over his handlebars, flipping in the air and landing face first - all without even attempting to use his hands to break his fall.

Poor Ricky lands next to John's pet dog, 15-year-old Shep - but the high-flying fail doesn't appear to disturb the dog's afternoon nap.

After spotting the accident, John claims Ricky was 'laughing straight away' and has 'given the village a good laugh'.

John said: "He's the brunt of all the jokes now.

"We've been having a few giggles - I think all of the village has had a good laugh.

Woman killed great uncle with 'zombie' blade in 'savage and sustained attack'

"He's a bit of a sport, but he was fine - he didn't go to hospital or anything.

"He'd scraped his face and bashed his nose a bit, but he was back in the pub afterwards having a pint."

In the clip, Shep is happily sleeping when Ricky comes tumbling over the fence head first and lands with a thud on his back - narrowly missing the furry fellow.

John said: "As it happened as I drove off to work this lad passed me on his bike.

"My son then rang me and said 'Dad! There's someone been stabbed in the front garden. The garden had loads of people in.'

"I went back down and there wasn't anyone in the garden then, but there was blood on the floor.

"I looked on the CCTV and this is what came up.  I showed the lad the video and straight away he was laughing.

"He just took the bend a bit too sharp I think. I don't even know if he has any brakes.

"He tried to get down the passageway but obviously missed and hit the wall instead.

"The neighbours helped him up and looked after him.

"It's funny that Shep didn't even move because when we're home, he always tries to open the gate and get out for a wander, but it really surprised me that he's just lay there.

"He doesn't even flinch."
