Hansi Flick will step down as Bayern Munich boss at the end of the season and this could have an impact on Tottenham.
Flick has reportedly fallen out with the club's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic recently over the transfer dealings last summer.
Bayern were eliminated from the Champions League - the competition they won last season - in midweek at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.
Now, Flick has acted quickly and confirmed to reporters today (Saturday) that he will be leaving the Bundesliga club at the end of the campaign.
"I told the team today that I informed the club during the week, after the game in Paris, I would like to terminate my contract at the end of the season," the former Bayern midfielder said.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the German club will now pursue Julian Nagelsmann, with the RB Leipzig boss their "main target" to replace Flick.
Nagelsmann has been at Leipzig since 2019 and has helped the Bundesliga outfit with their ongoing progression - with the side reaching the Champions League semi-final for the first time last season.
The 33-year-old German is reportedly a target for Tottenham, if the north London club were to part company with the under-fire Jose Mourinho.
As reported on Saturday afternoon, football.london understands there is a growing belief that Mourinho will not be in charge at Spurs next season.
Nagelsmann is certainly an exciting proposition for Spurs supporters, with the young coach playing a very modern, high-pressing style of attacking football.
However, it appears that Bayern are determined to make the German their new boss.
Nagelsmann has impressed in Germany, winning two individual managerial awards in 2017 and coming in third place for the UEFA men's coach of the year award in 2019/20.
