The events in the first half of Manchester United's U23s' game against Derby on Friday weren't enough to fill a postage stamp.
Neil Wood's side returned to Premier League 2 action almost two weeks after their 3-2 win over rivals Leeds, but there was no Amad or Anthony Elanga for this particular game under the floodlights, so perhaps inclusion in United's squad for Watford awaits.
Teden Mengi started in the heart of the defence - the centre-back could leave the club on loan in January - and he was joined by another player that boasts great experience at U23 level with Hannibal, who was playing for the first time since recovering from injury.
Hannibal was named as United's U23 Player of the Year last season, however, even the 18-year-old looked lifeless in the first half.
Derby are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League 2 table and yet United looked devoid of quality throughout the first 45 minutes on Friday night and, to make matters worse, the hosts opened the scoring just four minutes after the break.
United suffered a lapse in concentration at the back and Bartosz Cybulski slotted home past Dermot Mee from close range.
The Reds grew into the game from that moment on and began to create openings for Charlie McNeill. The 18-year-old has been a revelation for United's U18s and his eagerness to impress at this higher level was evident as his side searched for an equaliser.
It was fitting that when United needed a moment of quality, though, it was Hannibal who duly stepped up. The Frenchman played a perfectly weighted ball into the pass of McNeill - his movement finally paid dividends - before the forward stylishly finished.
Hannibal made his full United debut against Wolves last season and he didn't look out of place against players much his senior.
When considering the standard of his performances in United's academy, it's not surprising that those from within the club hope that he can soon permanently bridge the gap to the first team and he could be the perfect replacement for Jesse Lingard.
Lingard looks set to leave United after talks over a contract extension collapsed this week - West Ham seems a likely destination after the player's social media activity - and Hannibal would be a worthy contender for the playmaker's fringe role in the squad.
Tonight was all about fitness for Hannibal, but his long-term future is certainly bright.
