Hannah Wants’s favourite tracks

Hannah Wants
Hannah Wants

The track I’ll be opening my next DJ set with
Henry Krinkle: Stay (Justin Martin remix)

A nice welcoming intro, a great vocal sample that people are familiar with and a bumpin’ drop to get the set underway.

The track I always play to rescue a dancefloor
Afrojack: Polkadots (Oliver Twizt remix)

Released in 2010, and it still works the dancefloor just as well now as it did back then! I don’t think I’ve ever heard a kick so hard. There’s always been a boss reaction when I’ve dropped this.

The track that currently gets the most rewinds
DJ Bigga G: Mind, Body And Soul (4x4 Mix)

What a bomb! Still destroys a dance floor 13 years on. Has one of my fave vocal samples: First Choice’s Let No Man Put Asunder.

The track I wish I’d signed to my label
Jacob B: Sruba

Such a dark techno track that progresses really well; a clever tune with a great use of sampling.

The track I’d play to show off my eclectic tastes
Chris Isaak: Wicked Game

It’s so beautiful, the words are incredible and it makes my mind float away.

The track I’d play at sunset in Ibiza
Reflekt: Need To Feel Loved (Adam K & Soha Vocal Remix)

One of my all-time favourite tracks. I urge everyone to go listen to it right now. Such amazing vibes: the vocal is stunning and the breakdown is perfect for a sunset anywhere.

The best track by my favourite new artist
Kalyde: Switch

I came back off holiday recently to over 500 promos and this was my favourite out of them all. His next release on Zoo Music is also big.

The track that got me out of bed this morning
The Jeremy Kyle Theme

Music doesn’t get me out of bed. The alarm goes off and I’m straight into the gym.

The ideal festival track
Eurythmics: Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)

That riff is iconic and the crowd goes crazy, it’s really cool to tease with during a set.

The track I’d play at my auntie’s wedding
Luther Vandross: Never Too Much

Guaranteed to get everyone up on the dancefloor without a care in the world.

The track I’d play at my funeral
Bee Gees: Stayin’ Alive

Purely for the humour factor.

Hannah Wants hosts What Hannah Wants, Albert Hall, Manchester, 27 Mar
