Hannah Waddingham's white Wimbledon suit proves a waistcoat is the chicest way to wear summer tailoring

Hannah Waddingham at Wimbledon 9th July 2026.

It's been a star-studded fortnight at Wimbledon so far. From The Queen and the Princess of Wales to Keira Knightley, Anna Wintour and Sienna Miller, The Championships have certainly attracted some very stylish guests to SW19.

Tailoring has been something of a theme, and on Thursday, it was Hannah Waddingham who particularly caught our attention. The Ted Lasso star looked incredibly well put together in a three-piece linen trouser suit by Argent, the New York-based suit specialists.

She's wearing the brand's Scoop Neck Waistcoat, Single Pleat Trousers and Chelsea blazer, which stylist James Yardley expertly paired with Manolo Blahnik shoes and Jennifer Fisher jewellery. Hannah carried a white handbag with a beautiful bamboo handle, which is by British brand Aspinal of London, a favourite of Kate Middleton's.

What I really love about this look is the neckline of the waistcoat. The flattering scoop shape draws attention to the neck and collarbone, and it feels like a very glamorous twist on tailoring. It would frame a statement necklace perfectly, too.

In some photos from the day you can see Hannah's gorgeous handbag is this one. You've got a choice of the bamboo top handle or the quilted chain shoulder strap, plus the croc finish is so sophisticated.

This is a great match for Hannah's waistcoat, and if you don't fancy recreating the full trouser suit, these would look great with your favourite blue jeans. I love the contrasting tortoiseshell buttons, too.

This is actually a denim top, so you could incorporate this into your white jeans outfits for a more casual take on Hannah's power suit.

If you're looking for a softer alternative to white, the subtle gingham check on this waistcoat is spot on. There are matching trousers available, and one reviewer wrote: "After buying the trousers, I saw the waistcoat and had to have. Fortunately, the fit is just as perfect as the trousers, so I have a gorgeous co-ord. Lovely for the nice warm weather coming along."

I really rate Mint Velvet for trousers, and these have got a side pleat detailing that makes them look very designer. They will move beautifully when you walk.

These simple gold earrings will elevate any outfit. They're made from real waterproof stainless steel so they won't tarnish in the shower or at the beach.

If until now, you haven't been a huge fan of the waistcoat trend, mixing things up and trying an alternative neckline is a really good idea. A white waistcoat will soon become a really versatile piece in your summer capsule wardrobe since you can wear it with wide leg trousers, jeans, denim shorts - or even, as Laura Whitmore did at Wimbledon this year - try layering it over a summer dress.
