Hannah Rankin is aiming for an early Christmas present this Friday when she faces veteran Maria Lindberg.
Luss-born Rankin, 31, will face 44-year-old Lindberg at Tottenham Hotspur’s £1bn stadium for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Welterweight and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) crowns.
Rankin previously won the IBO belt in 2019.
And looking towards the bout, she is confident of claiming silverware after a gruelling 10-week training camp.
She said: “Getting the world title would be the perfect Christmas present as far as I’m concerned.
“Having won my first world title in Scotland, which will always be where my heart is and where my family are, will always be very special to me.
“But London is now my second home, and winning a world title there would be perfect.
“Maria’s fought for multiple world titles. In a couple of those I feel like she was robbed. She really should’ve been a world champion by now.
“I know she’ll bring it and that it will make the fight really exciting to watch.”
“It makes me even more fired up that I know I have someone coming who will be having her final chance at getting a world title.”
Rankin against Lindberg will be live on Fightzone.uk - with a monthly subscription priced at just £4.99.
