Hannah Gadsby announces world tour of new show Douglas, to follow award-winning Nanette

She may have said she was quitting comedy, but Hannah Gadsby has just announced dates for a new show.

The Australian comedian, whose Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning show Nanette moved audiences around the world, is embarking on her first tour of the USA following a run in Melbourne.

The tour kicks off in April, with UK and Europe dates to be announced soon.

Gadsby, whose new show Douglas is inspired by her dog, has been doing stand-up comedy for more than a decade. Nanette, which she said was her exit from the world of comedy, took the Fringe by storm in 2017 and overturned the conventions of stand-up comedy.

Discussing gender, equality, anger, homophobia and the nature of art, it became an international hit after streaming on Netflix, with many hailing it a genre-defining piece of work.

Check back here for updates on Gadsby’s UK show dates, which are set to be announced in the coming months. A full list of international dates and tickets can be found here, hannahgadsby.com.au
