'Handy' Nottingham Forest transfer decision plotted ahead of January window

Nottingham Forest should recall Josh Bowler from Olympiacos in the January transfer window, they have been told.

Bowler is stuck in limbo at the Greek champions, where he is currently being left on the bench by manager Valerien Ismael, the former Barnsley and West Brom boss. He cannot move to another team in January having already been registered at the maximum number of clubs this season following his switch from Blackpool.

A large number of Forest fans have said they want to see Bowler back at the club amid Brennan Johnson's struggles in adapting to the Premier League. Others, meanwhile, are less optimistic and are questioning why he was signed in the first place. Below is a look at what supporters have been saying on social media...

Redtilimdead : We could do with a few new players (don’t laugh) January window completely different this year as more of the season left than normal with World Cup buying us time, get the Brazilian lad in as well and shake us up at scoring end of the pitch and buy us a decent CH to par up with Moussa.

NoYouShutUp : We need a winger. Johnson is not doing the job. Bring him back.

Penman52 : Could be the next Terry Curran. I would love to see this forward-thinking player given a chance.

Redisthecolour : Been impressed with him for the past year or two - got skill and pace - and should be here IMO providing competition for Brennan Johnson who is, sad to say, struggling a bit in the PL.

BR14NC10UGH : Pointless signing full stop. Won't get game time here either.

Robbo11legend : Feel so sorry for the young man, shipping him out to Greece then sacking a great Manager, the only one who what he's capable of. Now, poor lad is left in limbo land through no fault of his own - can't we swap him back for Lingard?

Worshipthetree : Should never have been loaned out. He is a great option to have on right wing. Brennan is struggling to make an impact and this guy offers something different.

Spokored : Never should have left Championship. Being wasted on the bench needs regular playing time.

Thorpey1 : Don' t know why we loaned him out in the first place when we've been chasing his signature for a long time. Bring him back and see what he can. His creativity and goals could be handy post January.
