Handy airport trick could help you find your luggage quicker at baggage claim

Although going on holiday is generally a very exciting time, travelling by plane can be stressful for a number of reasons.

Holidaymakers are often filled with anxiety when it comes to waiting for luggage at the baggage carousel, thanks to lengthy wait times and the fear that your suitcase may not even arrive at all.

But there's a simple way around having to stand and wait ages for your bag, and all you need to do is make one simple request when you're checking in your luggage before boarding.

The Mirror reports that flyers can request a special sticker is put on your bag when you check in before a flight, and it allows you to get it back quicker.

According to news.com.au, asking for a "fragile" sticker for your luggage could speed up your wait time when it comes to the baggage carousel, as the sticker will affect the order in which your bags are packed onto the plane.

This means it will go into the plane last, coming out the other side first, which equals less time to wait at the carousel. You may genuinely have some fragile things in your case, but you never even knew you could ask for a fragile sticker - but it turns out you can.

However, there's something else you can do if you don't want to ask for one of these stickers, and that's being one of the last people to check in their bags for the flight.

This works on the same principle as the fragile stickers, as having your bags packed onto the plane last means they'll be at the front of the queue when it comes to collecting them again.

Thomas Lo Sciuto, a ramp worker and gate agent at a regional airport in the US, told Quora: "Bags will always be loaded front to back on the bag carts so if you check in last your bags will be in the last bag cart."

Meanwhile, a flight attendant recently revealed why you should never wear shorts on a plane, as they can potentially pose a sanitary risk without you even realising it.

Tommy Cimato said in a viral video: "Don't or try not to wear shorts when on an aeroplane. You never know how clean it's going to be, so if you're wearing trousers you're going to have fewer germs."
