The New Testament of the Bible has a new handwritten version in German that matches the original in text font and size.
The book written by Immanuel Henry, a retired engineer, was formally released at the CSI Mateer Memorial Church here on the occasion of Palm Sunday.
Church vicar Fr. D. Jacob and assistant vicar Fr. N. Aji presented the book to Bible Society of India central council member and regional coordinator Koshy M. George.
Mr. Henry dedicated nearly a year and a half to study the language from scratch and embark on the mission. He has brought out handwritten versions of the Bible in Tamil and Malayalam in the past.
Dr. George said the book would be preserved at the society’s museum.
