Handguns and ammunition seized by gardai during Clondalkin raid

Two handguns and more than one hundred rounds of ammunition were seized by gardai during a raid in Clondalkin yesterday evening.

Three silencers and a small amount of cannabis were also discovered by gardai from Ronanstown station during the search.

The officers were assisted by the Ronanstown Detective Unit during the operation, which was carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the area.

A garda spokeswoman said no arrests were made during the search and investigations into the find are continuing.

She added: "A domestic premises was searched in a residential estate.

"During the course of the search a small amount of cannabis herb was seized along with two handguns, three silencers and 105 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

"All firearms have been sent to the Ballistics Unit for analysis."
