A crossbow, a handgun, pepper spray and €4,000 in cash have been seized in a raid in Drogheda, Co Louth.
Gardai carrying out an investigation against serious criminals in the area made the bust in the Highlands area this morning.
A man in his 30s has been arrested and is currently being held in Drogheda Garda Station.
Among the items seized in the operation included a handgun and ammunition, and a series of offensive weapons.
Included in these were a crossbow and pepper spray.
€4,000 in cash/cheques and a small quantity of controlled substances were also seized in the operation.
A garda spokesman added that investigations are still ongoing.
