Hand sanitiser stations have been set up across car parks in Nottinghamshire towns.
Ashfield District Council says the free standing hand sanitiser stations are located next to payment stations at car parks in Hucknall, Sutton and Kirkby centres as well as Huthwaite Market Place and Kings Mill Reservoir.
The council says Covid Support Officers have visited more than 740 businesses across the district to offer guidance and support during the pandemic.
Banners and posters promoting social distancing and face coverings are in place to act as a reminder to residents, who can now pay for parking via the paybyphone app.
The local authority is also encouraging residents to shop small and support local independent retailers.
To support this all its town centre car parks have two hours free parking all day, every day.
And throughout December parking in the town centre car parks is free.
Lee Waters, Councillor for Hucknall North, said: “The hand sanitiser stations will allow residents and visitors using our car parks to have further peace of mind when they’re out and about across the district.
"We want to encourage people to enjoy the wide range of retailers our high streets offer and come out and view our fantastic Christmas lights knowing that their family and friends will be safe.”
