A hand sanitiser produced by a Bristol gin distillery sold out in two hours.
Bristol-based gin distillery 6 O’clock Gin has been producing hand sanitiser for local authorities, hospitals and nurseries during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday, April 1, the gin brand made the hand sanitiser available to the public and the entire batch of 175 bottles sold out in under two hours.
Michael Kain, managing director of 6 O’clock Gin, who is currently recovering from coronavirus at home, said: “We are doing everything we can to protect people in our community during the coronavirus outbreak.
"I am extremely proud of my team and how they have rallied together to create a product that is very much needed at this time."

6 O’clock Gin plan to donate hand sanitiser to the NHS, matching the volume of every 250ml bottle sold to customers.
Southmead Hospital has already been in touch and will benefit from a bulk shipment in the coming days, the company said.
The statement from the company continued: "The £5.00 hand sanitiser is made to the World Health Organisation formulation and comes in a recyclable Bristol blue bottle, inspired by 6 O’clock Gin’s award-winning London Dry bottle."
"Key workers and others on the frontline are able to buy the hand sanitiser at a reduced, cost to produce price.
"6 O’clock Gin is asking all customers to be courteous and only purchase what they need.
"Orders of more than four per person will be reviewed by the team.
"If local businesses require more, the gin brand urges them to get in touch directly."
