Hammer-armed Dublin boy arrested by gardai foiling potential bloody attack

A hammer-armed Dublin boy was arrested by gardai who intercepted another potential attack among youngsters in the city.

The weapon was discovered by Gardaí after they body searched the arrested youth this week.

The boy had been nabbed in relation to a public order incident and brought to Pearse Street Garda Station.

Officers in the station found the blue, worn hammer on his person.

An Garda Siochána tweeted:

"Gardaí from Pearse Street Garda Station arrested a youth in relation to a public order incident recently.

"A hammer was located on his person after a search back at the Garda Station."
