World famous toy store Hamleys is bringing its magic to the North East, it has emerged.
Hamleys, dubbed the 'Finest Toy Shop in the World', has announced it is opening a brand new pop-up store at the Metrocentre.
The popular retailer will take up more than 2,000 square feet in the Green Mall at the Gateshead shopping and leisure complex, where it promises an exciting in-store concept with play taking centre stage.
The firm says that shoppers will be able to step into a magical toy wonderland stocked with toys ranging from the traditional to the high-tech, games and puzzles to arts and crafts, including famous brands such as Lego, Barbie, Playmobil and LOL.
Its exclusive Hamleys toys including their iconic Hamleys Teddy Bears are also heading to the region.

The new pop-up store is welcome news for the shopping destination, which reopened its stores in June following lockdown.
Hamleys' arrival follows the recent opening of Next Beauty & Home, which took over the former Debenhams store with a beauty, home and women’s lifestyle offering.
Suit Direct also opened its flagship store at Metrocentre this month, selling brands including Marc Darcy, Ben Sherman and Antique Rogue.
Hamleys first opened in London in 1760 and moved to its flagship Regent Street store in 1881.
It will be open at the Metrocentre from tomorrow, Thursday October 22.
