Hamilton v Rangers: Watch Accies boss Brian Rice's press conference in full

Hamilton Accies boss Brian Rice hopes Bruce Anderson will provide an extra dimension up front, and help save his side from the Premiership drop.

Anderson made his debut from the start of the 2-1 defeat to Ross County on Wednesday night and Rice liked what he saw before the Aberdeen loan star tired towards the end.

But Rice hopes he can help his side, and might let him loose in Sunday's New Douglas Park showdown with Rangers.

Rice said: "I thought the lad did very well, considering he had only trained with us for two days prior to the match.

"I thought he looked sharp, there was a wee bit of a partnership with Marios Ogkmpoe that looked pretty promising, particularly in the first half until he ran out of legs, which I expected, because the lad hasn't played a lot of Premiership football.

"I was absolutely delighted with the boy, and there is hope that he will be an asset for us, particularly when he gets up to speed.

"He has goals in him. Even with the own-goal his first touch was fantastic, he had the onus to play it across and then play it across again.

"I'm absolutely delighted with what he brought the other night and we just hope he can build on that, get him up to speed a wee bit more, and I'm sure he will get goals for us."

Rice added: "It was disappointing to lose the match, I'd have been disappointed if we had drawn the match when we were nine minutes away from winning it.

"We had chances in the first half, like I spoke about, to maybe put the game to bed, but we didn't.

"It's a mammoth task on Sunday to go in to face Rangers, but it's just another game that we need to try and get something out of.

"We have to look forward to Sunday, to the last 14 games, and make sure we get enough points to stay in the Premiership."
