Hamilton v Partick Thistle TV opportunity an incentive for Accies dressing room says star

Hamilton's Marley Redfern believes Accies will thrive off the big game atmosphere under the lights and on TV against Partick Thistle tonight.

Stuart Taylor's side could move to sixth in the Championship with a win against Ian McCall's side, who sit three places above eighth-placed Accies.

The game will be broadcast on BBC Scotland. Redfern believes it provides the perfect atmosphere for the Hamilton players, who are beginning to grow into life under head coach Stuart Taylor after his August appointment.

Accies have won their last two matches, a 2-1 home success against Championship leaders Inverness and a 2-0 SPFL Trust Trophy third round victory over Aberdeen 'B'.

"It's definitely exciting," said Redfern of the Thistle encounter. "My mum and dad have been going to near enough every game - home and away!

"But this is what every player wants, the chance to play under lights and on the TV. So we are looking forward to it.

"We've been up and down results-wise but we are still gelling as a squad with the new manager. We are taking things one game at a time."

Redfern has played seven of Hamilton's eight Championship matches so far this season. Still only 18, the teenager says it's been an excellent learning experience.

"It's been brilliant so far this season," added Redfern. "You obviously aim to be a regular at the start of a season but I suppose you never fully expect it.

"Playing near enough every week has been really good for me. I feel I am getting better and better each week. I am learning lots.

"The more experienced boys around me have been helping as well. During pre-season I did the right things and now I have my chance."
