Hamilton striker says cap call has given him fire to blast Brian Rice's side up table

David Moyo says being capped by Zimbabwe has sparked the fire in him to help power Hamilton up the Premiership table.

Accies travel to Dundee United this afternoon, looking for their first Premiership win since beating Livingston 2-1 on September 12, and Moyo says morale in the camp has been high, despite a poor run.

The 25-year-old, who has scored just once this season, featured in both of Zimbabwe's Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches against Algeria, following up a 3-1 defeat last Thursday with a 2-2 draw on Monday, and believes the experience has taught him a lot.

He told Nickolas McInally for the club's official website: "This has sparked the fire even more for me. I want to kick on now, the aim is always to score more goals and be a bigger player for Accies.

"The experience was unbelievable, I loved every minute of it. That feeling of representing your people on home soil will stay with me foreer. It's dreams come true.

"I took a lot from it. I looked at how different players conduct themselves and approach the ame.

Moyo has netted just once this season, in the 4-2 defeat at Aberdeen (Ross Parker/SNS Group)

"I am always learning and trying to better myself. This has helped m a lot and has changed a few things for me."

Moyo now hopes to use that experience to help Accies to what would be a priceless away win on Tayside.

He said: "Getting the win comes first and foremost and I want to do allI can to help us do that. Scoring more goals gives us a fighting chance.

"Since I've been back the dressing room has been bubbly and the morale has been high.

"All the boys are on it and determined. We are all on the same page.

"We all want to get a result this weekend and kick-start our season.

"We need the results to get up that league, we have the players to do it."
