Hamilton Accies left-back Kieran MacDonald says head coach Stuart Taylor's squad showed vast improvement from a 6-1 defeat to Partick Thistle away at Kilmarnock - but 'small things' are going against them.
Oli Shaw's fourth minute goal and a Daniel Armstrong cross after half-time proved enough to seal a 2-1 Killie win over Hamilton at Rugby Park in Saturday's Championship affair.
Accies are eighth in the league and two points above basement club Greenock Morton. The result in Ayrshire comes off the back of the Thistle humbling live on TV.
MacDonald believes Hamilton put in a brilliant shift against Kilmarnock, but something isn't quite clicking for Taylor's men.
“We were outstanding for about 70 minutes of the game, there was a big reaction to last week," said MacDonald.
“We were confident of coming here and taking something but it’s just these wee small things that are not helping us. We work on it every day and that’s showing on the pitch.

"We just need to keep doing what the gaffer is asking us.”
The encounter with Killie was one Accies had full control over according to MacDonald, who has been left perplexed as to how something wasn't taken from the game.
Hamilton now turn to two big matches in the Championship this week, at home against Queen of the South on Tuesday before a trip to Morton prior to Halloween.
"I think we can take a lot of positives," added MacDonald. "I thought we dominated the game. After the first 15 minutes or so, we put our style on them.
"They didn't really have much other than the two goals they scored. But there's a lot of positives with the way we played coming away from home.
"We lose a horrible goal, it wasn't a nice one to lose to. It was basic. These small errors are killing us at the moment. It's a hard place to come to.
"Hopefully the goals start to come and we can stop them going in at the back. Outside of the Partick Thistle game, we have been playing well."
