Hamilton sign former Sheffield United and Motherwell winger

Hamilton Accies have signed winger Nathan Thomas ahead of Sunday's clash with Rangers.

Gaffer Brian Rice spoke earlier today about his hopes of landing three new signings and the first of his new arrivals is the 26-year-old winger, who had a spell with Motherwell and started his career at Sunderland.

Thomas left English Premier League outfit Sheffield United at the end of last season following a handful of loan spells in the lower leagues down south, including Notts County, Carlisle United and Gillingham, the club Accies defender Lee Hodson is currently on loan from.

He arrives in time to join the squad for Hamilton's Scottish Premiership clash with Rangers, but is unlikely to feature having last played a competitive game in March for Carlisle.

Thomas made 41 appearances last season, scoring nine goals for The Blues, and joins Accies on a deal until the end of the season.

Speaking to the Hamilton website, Thomas said: "I'm direct, I like to score goals and create goals, that's my biggest attributes.

"I like to travel with the ball, I'm quite a dynamic player for my position so hopefully if I can replicate what I've done in the past I can have a good time here at Hamilton.
