Hamilton sign former Birmingham City defender

Hamilton Accies have signed experienced defender Aaron Martin to add to their injury-ravaged squad.

The 31-year-old former Birmingham City stopper joins following the expiry of his contract at Exeter City.

He joins former Motherwell winger Nathan Thomas, who signed yesterday.

Martin has made over 200 appearances in the English leagues and played a major role in Exeter's journey to the play-off final at Wembley.

Martin told the club's website: "I've been in the game a long time now. I'm looking forward to playing a different style of football and I'm really looking forward to getting going again.

"There will be some tough games up here but I'm looking forward to experiencing the difference in opposition in Scotland."

Head coach Brian Rice said: "Aaron is an experienced lad who understands the game really well.

"I'm confident his experience will be a benefit to my squad."

Martin is available for selection if he's included in the squad for the Premiership clash against Rangers at Ibrox tomorrow.
