Hamilton's Universal Connections hosts charity football match

A group of big-hearted youngsters have organised and taken part in a charity football match.

Universal Connections, which lets young people within the Hamilton area get involved in their community and make positive changes, were behind the event which was held at Hamilton Palace Grounds.

The group were consulted on what issues they would like to address.

And they felt that homelessness is an issue within their community and wanted to help by raising funds for Shelter Scotland.

They chose to organise a football match between Universal Connections staff and young people.

A spokesperson for the group told the Advertiser: “We have raised £200 from the match and will endeavour to continue to raised funds with our community.”
