Hamilton Rugby Club ladies are making progress

Hamilton Rugby Club’s Ladies’ team narrowly lost their opening match of 2020 against Edinburgh Napier.

Played in terrible conditions, both sides were competitive, displaying excellent handling and creative attacking phases.

Edinburgh scored the first two tries, with Hamilton responding with a well-taken try which was created by a fast ball from the line out.

A few minutes later Hamilton had a try ruled out as the ball was judged to have been held up on the line.

In the second half Edinburgh started quickly and scored a try in the corner,.

The game continued to rage from end to end and a loose ball resulted in Edinburgh scoring their fourth try.

Hamilton kept going, and continued to put pressure on the Edinburgh line, forcing their opponents to concede a number of penalties, which saw Hamilton drive the ball over the line from 10 metres out.

The Hamilton team has developed consistently over the last year and have recruited well.

They train every Tuesday and Thursday at Laigh Bent from 6.45pm to 8.15pm, and are always happy to see new faces at training.
