Hamilton revealed as adultery capital of Scotland

Hamilton has been revealed as the adultery capital of Scotland in figures released by a cheating website.

IllicitEncounters.com, specifically for married people looking for affairs, says 1431 Hamilton residents are cheats – three per cent of the town’s population.

The figure puts Hamilton right at the top the cheating map of Scotland, and in eighth place throughout the UK.

Data from one million postcodes was used to create an interactive “Infidelity Index”, which lists the number of people having affairs in all of Scotland’s leading cities and towns.

It allows users to search a city, town or postcode to discover how many people are having affairs in any locality, and can be found at www.illicitencounters.com/map/standalone

Elsewhere in Lanarkshire, Blantyre has 837 cheats, Motherwell, 803; Bothwell and Uddingston, 418, while the Larkhall and Stonehouse area has 246.

IllicitEncounters.com spokesman Christian Grant said: “Cheating in Scotland is booming and particularly in Hamilton.

“Lots of couples in Scotland cannot afford to divorce due to the cost of establishing two new homes, so they are sticking with their partner and adding some spice to their marriage by discreetly having an affair.

“They know that with a site such as IllicitEncounters they can have an affair with a like-minded partner who is also looking to cheat. Both sides can have some fun without upsetting things at home.”
